São Miguel is the largest island in the Azores archipelago. It is known for its beautiful volcanic landscape, the large number of hydrangeas that embellish the whole island, the gastronomy and the whales that dominate the Azores. Ponta Delgada, the capital, is where the Turim Infante Hotel is located, right in the center, next to the Portas da Cidade, on the first sea line.

Ribeira Grande is a Portuguese city on the island of São Miguel, in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. The town of Ribeira Grande was elevated to the category of city on June 29, 1981.
